It seems that sleepwear is often neglected as people are under the impression that they won’t be seen in their pajamas. The same goes for under garments but let’s save that for another post. In reality, sleepwear (and under garments) should be high on our priority list as it is a rare occasion where we can truly just dress for ourselves. After reading about the launch of Olivia von Halle‘s line in Hong Kong, I’ve been intrigued by the concept of a pair of silk pajamas. Of course we have long moved past the Hugh Hefner days with his smoking jacket and pajama duo. Instead try channeling the styles of leading ladies from Audrey Hepburn in Charade to Leighton Meester in Gossip Girl. There is something very chic about the contrasted piping and the delicate buttons. The androgynous pairing of a shirt and pants is not only seductive, but also quite mysterious. Even though I’ve never been a fan of silk sheets, silk pajamas might be the perfect extra touch of luxury for bedtime.
